  • Is This My Calling?

When I was a kid nothing interested me in school. Math? Boring, History, snooze feast, English? Horrible writer. But, Science was always different. It always made me interested and pay attention, so I knew that my calling was somewhere in the science field. I then learned as I got older I liked helping people, especially on the movement side of things like going to the gym. I came to college wanting to do genetics but, it didn’t feel right as I was doing my classes. My friend suggested looking into other pathways, that’s when PT came up. I realized I can put all the things I enjoy To do in one thing. I can help people get their life back, get in shape, and talk to people and learn about them.

My strengths lie in at least trying to establish meaningful connections with people and providing compassionate, confidential support. I am deeply passionate about physical therapy as a holistic approach to healthcare, viewing it not just as a treatment help, but as a transformative process of helping individuals achieve their thought of Perfect. I am particularly drawn to the scientific parts of PT and the opportunity to support patients through deep, personalized care. My commitment to the field would extend beyond professional practice—I actively maintain my own physical fitness by going to the gym and understand the critical importance of preventative techniques like targeted stretching and exercise. What distinguishes my approach is a genuine belief in empowering patients to become their best selves. I see physical therapy as more than addressing immediate physical challenges; it’s about guiding individuals toward long-term wellness, improved mobility, and enhanced quality of life.

I recognize that I have areas for development, particularly in person-to-person communication and managing anxiety. My main challenge is initiating conversations with unfamiliar individuals, often experiencing difficulty in finding natural conversation starters. This stems from an underlying tendency towards social anxiety, which is obvious in occasional verbal hesitation and stuttering, especially when I become self-conscious about my communication. I am aware that my anxiety can sometimes impact my confidence, creating self-doubt that I am actively working to address. While these challenges are present, I am committed to personal growth and developing strategies to manage my communication apprehensions. I view these as opportunities for self-improvement, focusing on building communication skills and developing techniques to manage anxiety in professional settings. My self-awareness and dedication to personal development are strengths in themselves. I am trying to understand my communication challenges and am continuously seeking constructive ways to overcome them.

To conclude I do think PT is my calling, the reason I think that is because my strengths are stronger than my weaknesses, and this career can help me work on my weaknesses and make them into strengths. Also If one person has these same problems and comes in for PT I can talk them through what I did and hope they remember my lessons and become the best person they can be!

  • Moving People to Help Them

Physical therapy stands as the only type of hope for individuals seeking relief from pain and mobility issues. Unlike traditional medical interventions that often rely on medication or surgery, Through targeted exercises, manual therapy, and evidence-based techniques, physical therapists allow patients to take control of their recovery journey. This allows not only addresses immediate pain but also teaches patients valuable skills for preventing future injuries, making it a particularly fulfilling healthcare specialty.

The versatility and constant demand for physical therapy services make it an especially attractive career path. Physical therapists work with diverse patient populations, from athletes, to elderly individuals maintaining their independence, and from post-surgery patients regaining function to office workers managing chronic conditions. This variety ensures that each day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Additionally, the field’s essential nature means that physical therapists remain in high demand across various healthcare settings, from hospitals and private clinics to sports facilities and home health care.

Perhaps most rewarding is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients while witnessing their progress firsthand. Unlike many medical professions where patient interactions are brief, physical therapists often work with individuals over extended periods, allowing them to truly understand their patients’ needs and celebrate their achievements together. The joy of seeing a patient take their first steps after an injury, return to their favorite sport, or simply perform daily activities without pain provides unparalleled job satisfaction. Moreover, as healthcare continues to shift toward preventive care and non-pharmacological pain management, physical therapists play an increasingly vital role in promoting overall wellness and helping people maintain active, healthy lifestyles.

I think I bring all of these feelings and functions to the table. The reason I say that is because I like the challenge of meeting new clients and making them feel better, I’m a good talker when getting to know the person, So I’m very excited to do this!
